FCI Grand Prix of Portugal

1. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

• The event is open to all countries but the pigeons must wear an approved official ring from the Federations belonging to the FCI.

2. REGISTRATION

• The inscription value per pigeon is € 100 (one hundred euros);
   
• For each team of 5 pigeons, 1 extra pigeon may be sent for free;
   
• For each team of 10 pigeons, 2 extra pigeons may be sent for free;
   
• Each team will have a maximum of 12 pigeons;
   
• Pigeon fanciers can group together by choosing a team name;
   
• In case of participation in multiple teams, they must be identified (Team A, Team B...);
   
• Once the teams are formed, the transfer of pigeons between teams will not be allowed;
   
• All pigeons registered in the FCI Grand Prix of Portugal compete for all awards;
   
• Upon inscription, the bank details for the transfer of any prizes, as well as telephone contacts and e-mail address, should be provided;
   
• All the participants must provide their mobile phone number in the registration form so that we can send text messages with relevant information about their pigeons during the championship Mira OLR 2018.
   
• Pigeon fanciers should send their photo ( JPG file), so that the FPC post them in the website whenever their pigeons have a relevant performance.
   
• Entries will only be considered complete upon receipt of payment of the inscription;
   
• The inscription value may be paid by cash, check or bank transfer, in the latter case with expenses paid by the sender;

3. RANKINGS AND AWARDS (BASED ON PARTICIPATION OF 1142 PIGEONS)

Awards tables apply for a maximum participation of 1142 pigeons. If the entries do not attain 1142 pigeons, the awards will be recalculated with the number of participant pigeons.

3.1 GENERAL INDIVIDUAL RANKING

• An individual ranking for the 3 HOTSPOTS, SEMI-FINAL and another for the FINAL will be carried out;
   
• The "HOTSPOTS" races are 3 official trainings (over 100 km) before the Semi-Final.
   
• The SEMI-FINAL is the longest competition before the FINAL competition.

According to the established in point 3 of the regulation of the Grand Prix of Portugal, the prizes were meant to a minimum participation of 1500 pigeons. Under this regulation, the prize table was recalculated based on the 1142 pigeons entered, becoming effective the following values:

3.1.1 OVERALL INDIVIDUAL RANKING AWARDS – HOTSPOT / SEMI-FINAL / FINAL
 

3.2 ACE PIGEON RANKING

• The ranking will be established by the sum of the averages of the official trainings (over 100 km) + final competition;


• The provisional rankings for ace pigeon will be disclosed after each training;

• In the case of a tie, the winner is the pigeon that obtained the best classification in the final race;


• The race will be considered closed when 25 % of the basketed pigeons have arrived. If the race is not closed on the first day, it will be closed on the second day, the latest at 8:00PM even if less than 25% of the basketed pigeons have not arrived.

• To win the Ace pigeon, all pigeons must rank in the final race.

3.2.1 ACE PIGEON AWARDS

According to the established in point 3 of the regulation of the Grand Prix of Portugal, the prizes were meant to a minimum participation of 1500 pigeons. Under this regulation, the prize table was recalculated based on the 1142 pigeons entered, becoming effective the following values:
 

3.3 TEAM RANKING

• All teams participating in the FCI Grand Prix Portugal will appear in this ranking;


• The winning team is the one that achieves the highest sum in the set of measurements obtained by the first 2 pigeons of the team in the official trainings (over 100 km) and in the final race;


• In the case of a tie, the winner will be the team that gets the lowest sum of rankings won by their best 2 pigeons in the final competition;

• If the tie subsists, the winner will be the team with the best qualified pigeon in the final race.

3.3.1 TEAM RANKING AWARDS

• The best 5 teams in the ranking will receive a Trophy + Diploma.
   

3.4 REWARDS FOR PARTICIPATION - AUCTION
 
The pigeon owner will get a participation prize of 50% of the auctioned pigeon (less expenses with the sale and with the Photos), if the pigeon reach a minimum value of 150.00 €uros in the auction.

4. TRAINING CALENDAR - FINAL COMPETITION

• The training schedule will be posted on the FPC site (www.fpcolumbofilia.pt).
   
• Date of the final competition: 1st September 2018;
   
• Distance: +- 400 km.
